We Welcome All Dental Insurance
Navigating the in’s and out’s of dental insurance is often a struggle for busy families. Thankfully, the Wilderness Station Pediatric Dentistry team can help! Our dental office is proudly in-network with several major providers and we can file claims for many more, helping you maximize your deserved benefits to their fullest extent. If you have any questions about what to expect when using dental insurance or what kinds of services are likely covered for your son or daughter, just keep reading below.
Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
Many people believe that dental insurance is virtually identical to traditional medical insurance, but this isn’t true at all! The bulk of your benefits with medical insurance are centered around true emergency situations, like serious illnesses or unexpected injuries. Meanwhile, dental insurance is designed to put prevention first, which is why services like biannual dental checkups and cleanings are usually covered at 100%! The goal is to help you and your family enjoy healthier smiles throughout the years and reduce everyone’s risk of needing expensive procedures later down the road.
What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers
Every dental insurance plan is different, so please confirm your child’s available benefits with the insurance company before committing to any treatment – our team members can also help you explore your coverage! In most cases, parents can expect the following:
- As already stated above, routine preventive care like dental checkups, cleanings, and fluoride treatments are covered at or near 100%.
- Minor restorative treatments, like tooth-colored fillings and root canals, are partially covered at around 70-80%.
- Major restorative care, such as new crowns, are partially covered at around 50%.
Some plans may also offer full or partial coverage for orthodontic treatments if they are deemed necessary for your child’s health and wellbeing.
Our In-Network PPO Dental Insurance Providers
At Wilderness Station Pediatric Dentistry, we are in-network with a handful of major dental insurances, including:
But what does being “in-network” mean, exactly? Basically, we have agreed to accept negotiated rates for a wide variety of dental services and cannot alter these prices. As a result, visiting a dentist who is in-network with your insurance will likely be more affordable than visiting an out-of-network dental office. However, in many cases, this difference in cost is pretty minor. Our Lincoln pediatric dental office also loves welcoming in out-of-network families and can even file claims on your behalf – you won’t have to lift a finger!
